Confirm scope

One connected workflow

Everything before drafting, in one deliberate path.

Detailed intake begins after engagement. The same information then moves through client or staff entry, attorney review, missing-information resolution, and a clean drafting handoff.

  1. 01

    Open the matter

Start with the client, matter details, and a clear owner.

  2. 02

    Confirm scope & fee

Select services, set pricing and payment terms, then lock the scope.

  3. 03

    Generate engagement

Create a versioned engagement agreement from the confirmed scope, fee, and terms.

  4. 04

    Complete dynamic intake

Let the client self-serve securely or complete the same questionnaire with staff.

  5. 05

    Attorney review

Review the collected estate-planning information before it reaches drafting.

  6. 06

    Resolve missing information

Assign, clarify, and close gaps without searching across email, notes, and forms.

  7. 07

    Prepare the drafting plan

Organize the reviewed facts into a clean, deliberate drafting handoff.

  8. 08

    Move into drafting

Use the reviewed drafting plan in the software your firm already trusts.

Built around the work

Move quickly up front. Slow down only where judgment matters.

Fast engagement

Go from consultation to engagement without a giant questionnaire.

Choose services, apply or override the firm’s default fee, set payment terms, and confirm the scope before detailed intake begins.

  • Firm service and fee defaults
  • Attorney-controlled overrides
  • Confirmed scope snapshot

Versioned agreement

Build the engagement agreement from decisions already made.

Generate the agreement from the locked scope, fee, payment terms, and the firm’s template—then preserve the version history.

  • Template-based generation
  • Version history
  • External agreement tracking

One intake, two paths

Use the same dynamic intake with clients or inside the firm.

Clients can complete intake through a secure link, while attorneys and staff can assist using the exact same progressive questionnaire.

  • Secure client self-service
  • Attorney or staff-assisted entry
  • Progressive disclosure

Review to handoff

Resolve what is missing before opening the drafting software.

Surface missing information, assign follow-up, preserve resolution notes, and build toward a clean Copy Drafting Plan handoff.

  • Review ownership and notes
  • Resolution history
  • Drafting-software-ready handoff direction

Focused by design

Built to work before your drafting software—not replace it.

Arven owns the pre-drafting workflow. Your dedicated drafting software remains the place where the attorney makes detailed drafting decisions and produces the legal documents.

Arven · Before drafting

  • Matter, scope, fee, and payment terms
  • Versioned engagement agreement
  • Client or staff-assisted dynamic intake
  • Attorney review and missing-info resolution

Clean handoff

Your drafting software

  • Detailed attorney drafting decisions
  • Document assembly and legal language
  • Firm’s established drafting process
  • Final attorney review and output
Product direction: start with a clear “Copy Drafting Plan” handoff; pursue focused integrations when they meaningfully remove duplicate entry. Arven does not currently claim direct drafting-software integrations.

Frequently asked questions

What Arven is—and what it is not.

A focused product is easier to understand, adopt, and trust. These are the boundaries of the current MVP.

What is Arven?+

Arven is the workflow layer before estate-planning drafting software. It helps a solo or small firm move a matter through scope, fee, engagement, dynamic intake, attorney review, missing-information resolution, and a clean drafting handoff.

Does Arven replace estate-planning drafting software?+

No. Arven organizes the work leading up to drafting, while the firm’s dedicated drafting system remains the place for detailed drafting decisions and document production. The near-term direction is a clean Copy Drafting Plan handoff, with integrations as a possible future path.

How does Arven avoid duplicate data entry?+

Arven concentrates on information collected from clients or entered with staff assistance, then organizes it for attorney review. It is not intended to make attorneys enter detailed drafting decisions twice when those decisions belong in their drafting software.

What makes the estate-planning intake dynamic?+

The questionnaire reveals relevant sections as answers develop. A married client sees spouse questions, parents see child questions, minor children trigger guardian questions, and real estate or business ownership opens the appropriate detail sections.

Who is Arven designed for?+

Arven is designed for solo and small estate-planning firms that already rely on dedicated drafting software and want a faster, more consistent workflow before drafting begins.

What can firms do in the current MVP?+

The MVP supports matter setup, scope and fee confirmation, payment terms, versioned engagement agreement generation or external tracking, secure intake invitations, progressive estate-planning intake, and review-item resolution. Drafting Plan handoff and direct drafting-software integrations represent the product direction, not current integration claims.
